Best Wedding Venues in Ottawa: 2026 Photographer's Guide
Ottawa has some of the most historic and architecturally beautiful wedding venues in Canada. Here are my favorites as a photographer.

Ottawa is one of Canada's most underrated wedding cities. The architecture, the history, the proximity to nature — all of it photographs beautifully. As an Ottawa wedding photographer, these are the venues I find myself returning to.

Fairmont Château Laurier

The limestone castle next to Parliament Hill is iconic for a reason. Adam Room, Drawing Room, and the Ballroom each have their own personality. Photography tip: the rotunda at sunset is unbeatable.

The National Gallery of Canada

The Great Hall, with its glass-and-stone architecture, is one of the most striking ceremony spaces in Canada. Receptions in the Garden Court feel like a wedding inside an art piece.

National Arts Centre (Canal)

Floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto the Rideau Canal. The Panorama Room at sunset is magical.

Brookstreet Hotel

A sleek, modern venue west of the city. Beautiful for couples who want clean, contemporary aesthetics without the historic price tag.

Lago Bar & Grill (Dow's Lake)

Lakeside ceremony space with tulip beds in spring. One of the most photographed outdoor venues in Ottawa.

Le Belvédère

A romantic stone manor outside the city — French countryside aesthetics, manicured gardens, and a fireplace in the ballroom.

Choosing the Right Ottawa Venue

Three honest tips:

  • Plan for winter weddings. Ottawa's winter light is some of the most beautiful in Canada — don't dismiss December–February dates.
  • Outdoor backup. Tulip season is unpredictable. Always document your rain plan.
  • Parliament Hill portraits. Most Ottawa weddings include 15 minutes at the Hill for portraits — book this into your timeline.
