Best Wedding Venues in Ontario: 2026 Photographer's Guide
Ontario's wedding venues span vineyards, castles, lakefront estates, and barn-style retreats. Here's where the magic actually lives — from a photographer who's been to all of them.

Ontario is one of the most beautiful provinces in the world to get married in. From the vineyards of Niagara to the lakeside cottages of Muskoka, the variety is unmatched. As an Ontario wedding photographer, I've shot in every corner. This is my honest list.

Niagara-on-the-Lake — Wine Country Romance

Vineland Estates Winery sits among 75 acres of vines with a view of Lake Ontario. The Carriage House makes for a fairytale ceremony space. Trius Winery offers a more modern aesthetic with sleek architecture and a stunning courtyard. Two Sisters Vineyards is the most luxurious of the Niagara wineries, with European-style architecture.

Muskoka — Lakefront Cottage Country

Windermere House is a historic 1870 hotel on Lake Rosseau. Wraparound verandas and the lake at sunset. Taboo Muskoka Resort offers a more modern, design-forward feel. The JW Marriott The Rosseau is the most upscale Muskoka option — perfect for guests flying in from out of town.

Prince Edward County — Hidden Gem

The Drake Devonshire is the most photographed wedding venue in the County. Quirky, art-filled, and right on Lake Ontario. Picton Harbour Inn offers a classic, historic feel. Huff Estates Winery delivers vineyard weddings without the Niagara crowds.

Toronto — Urban Luxury

Hamilton — Surprisingly Beautiful

Liuna Station is one of the most underrated venues in Ontario. The restored 1933 train station is breathtaking on film. The Pearle Hotel & Spa in Burlington offers waterfront elegance.

Ottawa — Historic Charm

Château Laurier is Ottawa's iconic limestone castle hotel. The National Gallery of Canada offers truly unique wedding settings.

Choosing the Right Region

Ontario gives you almost too many options. Here's how to narrow it down:

Guest Logistics

If most of your guests are flying in, choose a venue with hotel partnerships and transportation. Muskoka and Niagara are easy for out-of-town guests; Prince Edward County is harder.

Season

Niagara and Toronto venues book up first for May–October. Muskoka shines in late summer and early fall. Prince Edward County is at its best in September.

Budget

Ontario venues range from $5,000 site fees to $25,000+ for prime weekends at flagship venues. Pad your budget by 20% to account for taxes, gratuities, and add-ons.

Photography

Ontario light is some of the best in Canada — warm afternoons and gentle golden hours. Outdoor ceremonies in Ontario almost always photograph beautifully.

Destination Weddings Inside Ontario

Many of our couples choose Ontario as a "mini-destination" — flying family in to Muskoka or Niagara for a weekend. We've made some of our favorite films at these weddings — the slower pace shows on screen.

If you're considering an Ontario wedding, reach out and we'll happily share what we've learned at each venue. Or book a 15-minute call to talk it through.
