Brampton has quietly become one of the most important wedding cities in Ontario. South Asian weddings, Afghan weddings, Sikh and Hindu ceremonies — Brampton hosts more multi-day, multi-event celebrations per capita than almost anywhere else in Canada. As a Brampton wedding photographer, these are the venues I find myself returning to year after year.
Pearson Convention Centre
Pearson Convention Centre is one of the largest banquet halls in the GTA. It has the capacity (1,500+) and the production setup to handle the kind of grand Afghan and South Asian weddings Brampton is known for. Photography tip: the stage lighting is intense — make sure your photographer brings off-camera lighting to balance skin tones during the reception.
Embassy Grand Convention Centre
Embassy Grand is purpose-built for big celebrations. The Princess Ballroom seats up to 1,200, and the décor packages are some of the most flexible in the city. We've shot dozens of Afghan weddings here — the staff genuinely understands the multi-day, multi-event rhythm.
Apollo Convention Centre
Apollo gets booked early, and for good reason. The grand foyer with the crystal staircase is one of the most photographed spaces in Brampton. The reception hall handles 1,000+ comfortably.
Chandni Banquet Hall
Chandni has built its name on weddings — Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, and fusion. Beautiful chandeliers, generous stage space for traditional ceremonies, and a kitchen that handles every cultural cuisine seamlessly.
Riviera Event Centre
A newer addition to Brampton's banquet scene, Riviera has clean modern lines, plenty of natural light, and dramatic ceiling treatments. Couples who want a more "modern luxury" feel without sacrificing capacity love it here.
Royal Ambassador
Royal Ambassador's grand ballroom features one of the most cinematic stage backdrops in the GTA — perfect for ceremonies and key family portraits.
How to Choose the Right Brampton Venue
Here's the honest advice we share with every couple:
Capacity Realism
Brampton weddings often double in size between the initial guest list and the actual wedding day. Build a 15% buffer into your venue capacity.
Multi-Event Compatibility
If you're planning a mehndi, sangeet, nikkah, walima, and reception, ask whether the venue can host multiple events back-to-back or on consecutive days. Some Brampton halls offer discounted multi-day packages.
Light & Photography
Many Brampton banquet halls rely heavily on stage lighting which can overwhelm photographs if not handled well. Always ask your photographer to do a venue walkthrough at least a month before the wedding.
Catering Cuisine
Indian, Pakistani, Afghan, and Sikh weddings all have specific dietary expectations. Most Brampton venues have in-house catering — get the menu tasting locked in 6 months out.
Parking & Logistics
Some venues have only valet — and on a 1,000-guest wedding, that can mean hour-long delays. Ask directly how many vehicles can be accommodated.
What Brampton Couples Get Right
The best Brampton weddings I've photographed share three things:
- A team of close family who handle logistics so the couple can be present
- A timeline with buffer between events (not rushed)
- A photography and film team that knows the cultural choreography
